Why is this almost $50?!?! I used to love this game when I was younger and I wanted to buy it to play with my kids, but holy cow! I am not going to spend $50 on a board game!

Fun and educational
I've recently purchased a few different board games to play with my 6-year-old daughter. I chose Payday because I wanted to use it to help teach her about money and I remember playing it at a friend's house when I was a kid. Well, it is definately a lot of fun! My girlfriend and I have played it long after my daughter went to bed. One nice feature is that you choose how many "months" to play ahead of time so you can control the length of the game. My 6-year-old at this point has trouble understanding the auctions, but we can still play it without them.I remember the game as being different when I was a kid. Too bad that the original version isn't also available. My only real complaint is that the money is made of extraordinarily thin paper, and it's just a matter of time before it will be destroyed.Overall, it is a great board game for both adults and kids.

Never too young
We bought this game when our children were only eight and five years old and we all had a ball. They learned very quickly that payday never comes around fast enough and that bills can very easily get out of hand. They are now both college students and still talk about how much fun we had. The game was subsequently passed on to another family and if I could locate a computerised version I'd buy it too.
