A great Purchase
I absolutely love this sub! For the size it is it can throw some serious bass. If you put a decent amp to it this thing It adds a great depth of sound to your music. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to install a sub in there vehicle. I had a pre-made box that was ready for this to just drop in. Great product, great quality and most importantly great sound.

Very impressed
I bought this sub because I wanted to round out my system with a little bass. Boy was I surprised, and in a good way. I replaced two mtx Terminator 12 inch subs in a sealed enclosure with this single 8 inch sub in a sealed enclosure that I built for it. It's hooked up to a class D pioneer amp at 2 ohms getting a solid 300watts RMS. This single 8 inch sub out performs those two mtx subs. The bass is cleaner, goes just as low, is more accurate, is just as loud, doesn't ring in your ears, massage worthy. Based on this sub alone I'll never go back to 2 12s. Everyone I show thinks I have two giant subs in the back and are amazed it's just this little 8. IMPORTANT: I have this installed in a hatchback. I believe if this was in a trunk of a typical car you would need two of them to get as loud as two 12s. The box I built for this sub is about 1.1 cubic feet. I would buy this sub over and over all day long.

Awesome Cerwin Vega sub!!!
Great little sub!!! I used one of these in a custom box for a 1973 Corvette (see pic) along with a pair of Cerwin 6x9's. Very sturdy the whole woofer just screams quality. The carbon fiber cone and classic Cerwin Vega red surround are just drop dead sexy. This sub was installed in a 1.0 cubic foot sealed enclosure and is being driven by 250w rms @ 2ohms. The ohms selector only allows for 2 or 8 ohm operation so make sure your amp is 2 ohm stable or run two subs in a 4 ohm configuration. My customer is an older gentleman who rocks out to country and 80's hair bands so I didn't need a sub-sonic 15" monster subwoofer. If your into bass heavy tunes like dubstep or trying to shake your windows with posse on broadway you will want to go bigger. This little 8" provided the needed bass reinforcement to round out the system. I highly recommend.

Good looking speaker but not a good performer
The spl is 81.5, so you will need more watts to get to the loudness you want and the problem is it’s only 250 rms. So you are very limited with this sub.

Amazing! High quality!
These sound amazing. I combined mine with a Fosgate amp and built a enclosure for them and the sound is high quality to say the least. Always loved this brand and they have been around a long time.

Awesome speakers! Great bass response for an 8 inch woofer. the best I've heard for the price.
No dislikes, used them in home audio speakers.

Its cool looking
This is a dual voice coil speaker with one connection. There is a plug that you can pull out and rotate 180 degrees to activate a different ohm resistance, (possibly the secondary voice coil?). The ohms stated on the plug do not match what the manual says. It is advertised as a 4 Ohm, but I don't think you can actually hook it up as that. If it truly is a 4 Ohm DVC speaker, then it should be either 2 Ohm or 8 Ohm, series versus parallel. It is possible that it is actually 1 ohm and 6 Ohm. I had bought 1 Cerwin Vega 12" HED series DVC and one of these. All of my testing was watching the two base speakers hooked up different ways on seperate channels and noticing the difference. With the 12" set at 4 Ohms (one connection, one coil), this 8" was way more responsive, not acting like it was the same ohm. When I switch the plug around, 125 watts RMS was too much for it. Having two seperate connections on what you would expect from a dual voice coil is more of a pain to understand, but gives much more flexibility on ability to hook it up in a system. I ended up buying a second 12" DVC to go with the one I already had. I could connect the two voice coils in parallel and they take full volume 125 watts RMS.
