Everyone has "silver" silverware, but this set looked modern and sleek to me. When I got the package, I was VERY pleased. The set looks amazing. The matte look is very sleek and looks gorgeous. I've used them about 3 times now, and took the recommendation to hand wash. No scratches or loss of color or anything bad to say at all.I hadn't realized that there are a set of plates that come with the cutlery. The plates look nice enough, but they are just plastic.
