If I wanted to ombre it or add highlights, would this be a good product?** A: I think it might work for you. I've used it a couple times with no issues but I make sure there is AT LEAST 6 months between bleaching. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to explore other brands. Doing an allergy test every time you use bleach or dye is crucial. The hair loss mentioned in other comments could be caused by 1. Didn't do an allergy test with a small amount of hair before bleaching all of it. 2. The scalp was too sensitive. 3. Bleach and developer were not measured correctly. 4. Did not follow the instructions provided. 5. It could have been beyond the expiration date. I had some hair loss after the first time I bleached my hair because it was something new and my scalp overreacted. **Q: My hair is naturally ash blonde and doesn't bleach easily. 20 mins only 2 shades lighter. Will this work? How long should I leave it on?** A: All Hair is different, twenty minutes probably does go two shades lighter, but you also have to realize how many shades there are now a days. To get my bleach blonde tone I leave it in for a little less than an hour. It's recommended not to leave it in longer than an hour or your hair will like fall out or something, plus it stops working anyways. This product does work, you would would just have to check the shade every 10 minutes until you get the color you want. If you use it just make sure to do all the necessary care tips before bleaching it and after. **Q: can someone tell me the difference between volume 40 and 30?** A: 40 is a stronger bleach than 30. You have to wait longer for 30 or 20 to achieve the result of 40, but a lower level is more ideal to have less damage. If you are only able to have your ombre for a few weeks and then you need to go back to dark brown, you will need to fill the color in with something like a gold or red. Otherwise, the dark pigment in your hair will fall out and the hair will become muddy and green colored. I have not had my natural hair color more than a few weeks at a time for the past 10 years at least. So I have used a lot of hair colors and bleaches and hair color removers. This is my favorite bleach by far. I cannot believe how quickly it worked.For reference, I was bleaching a light purple color out of my medium blonde/light brown ash toned hair. I also had roots that had grown out so I needed to bleach out both the old permanent color and my roots. My hair is about chin length with an undercut, but very very thick. One box of this bleached all of my hair in about 20 minutes. It took it to a light golden blonde, but probably would have been white if I had given it a a few more minutes. I started with my lengths and planned to let that sit for a bit then do my roots, but I could see the lightening in my lengths within minutes so I went ahead and applied to everything and was ready to rinse in about 20 minutes all told. I shampooed 3 times and conditioned with a hair mask afterward and my hair wasn't overly brassy or straw-like in texture.If you have long hair or very thick hair, you will likely need two boxes of this. The directions were super easy (just mix everything together basically) and it actually came with a decent pair of gloves (not the paper thin ones that I usually get and are practically useless). The smell with this was not as bad as some bleaches I have used either. I really have no complaints, for the price this is hands down the best bleach I have ever used.Simple, quick, and effective. Bonus, the color that came out was nice enough and even enough that I have been able to wait a few days in between bleaching and re-coloring (basically, it is presentable in public so I didn't have to go right back to the bathroom to color as soon as I washed this out).
