I can strap it on (I usually put the velcro in the front with the ice on my neck, like a headband) and watch tv to distract myself while I try to feel better, or strap it on and go to sleep/lay down. My favorite feature is that it's hands-free so that I don't have to scrunch up to hold a traditional ice pack on my head, or lay down and also hold it on my head--because I want it on that one place on my temple, and the ice always falls off. Or I want it on that on a place behind my ear, and I can't get the traditional ice pack there without holding it there and tensing up the muscles in my neck or laying on the traditional ice pack, which doesn't work. BUT! With the headache hat, the ice stays in place! It hits all the places at once! It goes behind my ears! it goes on my temple! It goes on my neck at the base of my skull! And I don't have to hold it in place! I don't have to scrunch up or tense any other muscles in the meantime! I love this thing man! And the fact that the headache hat go is pink--high visibility--is wonderful. Easy to find when I'm feeling better and not in that weird funky mood.Example of wonderfulness:I took meds last night before going to sleep and it didn't quite do the job. I woke up in the middle of the night, still feeling crappy. I got up, took some more meds, strapped this on, and went back to sleep. Yes, you can sleep with it. (It feels a little weird, because you're sleeping on ice cubes, but the comfort of the ice felt so dang good).Only con: They take a WHILE to freeze in the freezer, BUT... it comes with an extra pack of ice! So once it freezes, you should be ok :) I ordered two because I knew it took a while to freeze, and I want to be able to use them back to back, and I always forget to put them back in the freezer when I'm done--brain fog. Now I have a Headache Halo (previous buy) and 2 Headache Hat Go's with extra ice! That's 5 uses!!! I'm so prepared... Which allows me to relax a little. I’ve tried the gamut of highly rated migraine hats. This one optimized my priorities:- lightweight- provides cold for 30 minutes where I need it- fits well because of the flexibility of the 5 inch Velcro closure- super easy to store and re-freezes quickly- easy to wash (cold water, delicate) and tumble dry low- unlike some other reviews, the 4 I own have not yet leaked (2 are about 3 years old) My migraines are accompanied and pretty much superseded by hyperhydrosis (overheating and sweating like crazy) in my cerebellum area, all around my neck, and my temples. My family says that it’s like a sheet of sweat suddenly pours from my neck and the nape of my neck. My instant thermometer readings of my cerebellum area average101F during an episode. My normal temperature is lower than most at 96.7F. This Headache Hat has been my lifesaver, bringing me back from misery to feeling near normal. My only wish is that it came in different colors besides pink. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great for a a kid's migraine! *by C***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2019* My 12 year old son gets periodic migraines, and always wants to put ice on his head when he gets one. This is a GREAT alternative to holding bags off ice on his head, since he just wants to close his eyes and rest when he gets one - not worry about holding the ice bags in place. ... The Headache Hat isn't really a "hat" - more of a "wrap" that goes around the head. (It only holds the ice around the front, back and sides of the head - not the top) ... and it has velco in the back, so you can easily adjust the size to fit any head. .... It works really well, and my son is very happy with it. ... The only reason I gave it 4-stars is because the material (sleeve) is very thin, and the ice got so cold, it started to "burn" his forehead. We had to put a paper-towel between the band and his forehead to keep it from being too cold on his skin. (It was fine on the sides and back, where he had hair protecting his skin - it was only on his forehead that he needed an extra layer). For this reason, it would be nice if the sleeve where a little thicker, so his skin was protected. ... But overall - great product!
