Apex Theropod Deck-building Game: Exotic Predators - Limited Edition

Great art, Great Theme, great gameplay although a liittle complex.Love it 4 Stars deserved

I got to play this game for the first time at a local International Table Top Day and fell in love with this deck building game and had to buy it on the spot. At the Table Top Day the game creator was there and I had the opportunity to play the beta version of his newest game Promethean Wars, it is going to be awesome and I can't wait for its release in the future.Apex is a deck building game based on Dinosaurs. There are several decks included for variety of game play. You can hunt prey, get upgrades that allow you to have some unique abilities that help you throughout the game, and there are boss battles that come at random during the game and affect each player that round. Unlike other deck building games I have played you can set aside some of your attack cards to lay in ambush to help you have a better attack for your next round, however this bonus doesn't come without a cost. If you ambush you then take an alert card, think of it as stepping on a branch thus alerting your prey, that alert card goes into your deck and when it surfaces can cause some of the prey to attack you. I thought this was a fun new spin on the game play.Apex is easy to learn with some unique features that I haven't seen in other deck building games. It has tons of replay value and variety. 5 Stars!
