A piece of the hinge cracked off and I actually found it floating around in my PS2, thankfully I found it. I've owned this for less than a year, only a few months and its already broken. I did not abuse the case and it was handled only by adult users who opened and closed the ps2 disc tray gently. I think the spring that opens and closes the case is too stiff and puts a lot of pressure on the hinges. The switch that is built into the case worked for me, however you kind of have to line it up and figure it out before you put the case on the system and that could take a while, so the installation isn't as easy as it sounds.
