Since it is plugged into the cigarette lighter, it works as long as the car battery is good. PS. It is really bright. With one flaw *by A***. on June 2, 2025* This light was amazing. Had it on the roof with wires run though window seal into dash 12V. It lasted for a year on the car and was very bright and always worked amazing. Very easy to use and switch flash patterns. A little small but looked good on a full size SUV. The bad, was driving to work during a tornado and the amber cover was blown from the light and destroyed on the highway. Without the cover, it still works, but is practically useless.
