## Description

Phitz is a Chicago-based company. We do all of our instrument case design work here. We manufacture our cases at our wholly-owned sewing factory in China. We control every aspect of design and every aspect of quality, and we think that matters a lot. We care about everything. We individually inspect each case many times during the manufacturing process. We use better materials, thicker foam and tougher thread. We call out better sewing details than you’ll find in other products. We use a big, beautiful, #8 self-healing nylon zipper from a great manufacturer and custom-mold our zipper pulls. We pull-test each batch to guarantee their strength. You'll never know that our stronger thread and obsessive testing kept your case from coming apart three weeks after you bought it - when the competitor’s case that you’re considering considered would have failed for lack of similar attention. The details matter. The foam in these cases is .6"" thick - about as tall as a dime. It’s a comfortable amount for sliding in and out of your car, carrying around town, or wearing on your back on a bicycle. It’s also suitable to carry on to an airplane. There’s a hidden section of additional hard foam on the bottom of the case, as well. We designed this to be a good case and we hope that we’ve succeeded. (Lots of happy reviews from customers suggest that we have.) We guarantee our cases and happily accept returns and exchanges. A note about fit: we call this a “universal bass case” because it fits most all of the “beginner” bass guitars on the market. It may not fit radically long/short/shaped/hollow-bodied bass guitars. It won’t fit, for instance, the Dan electro “Longhorn”, Epiphone “Jack Casady,” Ibanez 7-string models, the Dean V “Metal man,” or models from Steinberger or Conklin. When in doubt, check the drawings that are in the images in this listing. From all of us here, thank you for considering a Phitz case. We hope that you’ll make your next case a Phitz.

## Features

- Almost-zero return rate - in the last twelve months, the return rate on this case was less than .2%! We're happy that customers who purchased this case are so obviously satisfied with the product that they received.
- This is a meaningful upgrade from a cheap gig bag. It's more protective, with .6" foam padding and water-resistant fabrics, plus an extra foam pad on the bottom. We use heavy-duty luggage-grade thread throughout, and stress points are double-stitched.
- The case has all the pockets that you’ll likely need. The front pocket will hold sheet music, cables, folders and/or straps. The neck pocket has room for tuners, picks, and extra strings.
- This case fits all common solid-body electric bass guitars. It does not fit hollow-body or oversized bass guitars. We have a more detailed list of fits and not-fits in our product description below.
- Phitz is a Chicago-based business and we guarantee the quality of these cases. Buy confidently knowing that real people are available to answer your questions and resolve any problems.

Surprised and Pleased...so I've purchased three, so far!

GENERAL COMMENTS: Like a lot of folks, I was not sure about buying a Phitz bass bag, but I am happy to report that i am happy with all three Phitz bags that I purchased. I purchased a red "Che Guevara" bass bag, and the olive/ brown/ beige "Multicam" bass bag (which was about ten dollars more for a larger front zipper pouch)and the Lightning Bolt. Upon inspection, these cases are definitely good quality products. The stitching is strong, the fabrics are good quality heavy canvas (and not that cheap slick nylon stuff I was expecting). The inner fabrics are a diamond textured nylon, and the zippers are a rugged zipper construction (like found on quality outdoor gear) with custom rubber "PHITZ" zipper pulls (a nice touch). Also, I think the Amazon photo of the "Che" bag does not do the bag justice, because it's better fabric than the image would suggest, and the red is a nice shade. (The Che has what I thought was color bleed from black dye into the red background, but I realized it is part of the printed revolutionary design!)INSTRUMENT FIT: I tested each of the three PHITZ bass bags with several bass guitars, and both bags will each hold an Epiphone Thunderbird 4-String Bass, or a Yamaha Attitude Plus 5-String Bass, or a MusicMan Sterling S.U.B. 4-string bass, or an Ibanez SR405QM 5-String bass. The Thunderbird is my longest bass, and it is a bit snug (atop the headstock) once zipped closed...but that's true for every other bass case i own.GIG BAG VERSUS CASE: One thing you should realize is what this PHITZ bag is NOT. This PHITZ is more of a "well-padded, good quality, gig bag" style, versus a structured bass guitar "case". I have half a dozen basses and a few 6-string guitars, and I have typically stored them in RoadRunner bags from Guitar Center. or very pricey MONO single or dual cases. While the RoadRunner bags (boring black) and MONO (dreary gray) offer more "structure" and thus a bit more protection, these PHITZ bags provide some fun and attractive styling, to suit my many moods, caprices and unique identities. :O Plus, I immediately know which instrument is in which bag!REVIEW UPDATE OF DEC 28 - FYI...I dropped my rating from five stars to four, because today (after two weeks of use) the Zipper Pull on one of my Phitz Bags simply broke off. While the custom "PHITZ" printed zipper pulls look really great, the metal loop of the pull seems like soft, bendable metal...so it broke off. I am still happy with the (three) bags I purchased, but I'm lowering my rating, in hopes that the Phitz Pholks might read and improve the pull strength. Thanks!REVIEW UPDATE OF DEC 30 - Amazing!!! The Phitz Pholks really DID read my review, and they contacted me, apologized for the problem I had with the wimpie zipper pull, and offered to replace the case. Ergo, I am raising my rating back up to six stars, because of their amazing customer service. (Note: It's great that they offered me a replacement case, but i think it wouldn't be right for me to take an entire case, just because of a zipper pull. i ordered some nifty zipper pulls off Amazon and will just replace the offending pull.) Thank you, Phitz!

    Good bag, good price!

OK first off I have to say that I've been a bassist for 47 years and I've never been a fan of gig bags. Maybe I'm old school but having an HSC was always considered a necessity. That said, I now digress and admit that an HSC isn't always needed and might actually be considered a luxury.I built myself up a parts bass. A Fender 50's series Precision Bass and even though it's just an "at home" bass for now, I still felt I needed something to store it in rather than leaving it on a stand all the time. I just couldn't justify the $100.00 + dollars for the Fender case. So gig bag time.I saw the Phitz bag and it looked good in the pictures and the price is right at under 40 bucks. Plus free next day Prime shipping factored in as well. I got the tan or as Phitz calls it Coyote - PH39893SFB.Upon arrival I was surprised at how well the bag is constructed. Nicely sewn and every zipper works fast and smoothly. No snags of any type. I looked it over from top to bottom inside and out and could find no issues with any part of the construction. So on to trying it out.My P bass fits with room to spare and there's enough padding that I'm not too worried if it takes a small tumble or falls over in the bag. Just remember it ain't an HSC and never will be. There are multiple zippered storage pockets on the bag so I started to see what I could fit in the bag (see pics). I wanted to be able to toss my tc electronic BH-250 micro head ( 9 1/2 x 8 1/2 x 3) into a compartment on the bag. There were no problems it fit with room to spare. There is easily more than enough storage on the bag as I was also able to get other stuff I need in there too. Also love the fact that is has a strap sewn on the top for hanging the bag.So here's the total of the stuff in my bag. The P bass, strap, lead cord, tc head, cords for speaker, extra cord, and power, spare set of strings and my tuner. Still have space available to stash a few smaller items or a tablet and phone. Fit with the P bass if fine there's room for the bass to move around inside but it's not excessive. If I end up taking this bass out to a gig and with the bag loaded like this my load in for a gig would be the Phitz bag in one hand and my tc RS112 in the other. All under 50 pounds. Possibly add a small over the shoulder messenger bag too if needed.Only time will tell if the bag holds up but for the price it's a nice bag. If you need good basic storage and transportation for your bass at a decent price, the Phitz bag will get it done. If I had to find a fault it would be with the backstraps. They need some type of shoulder padding.

    I Absolutly Love This Case.

*by P***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2016*

This case is amazing. I just started playing bass guitar. The music director at my church let me borrow his guitar, case, amp etc. I have the strong urge however, to get my own stuff and return his as I can. I got a guitar and a strap, so I needed a case to go with it. I wanted a nice padded case at least as good as the one I borrowed. This case has exceeded my expectations on so many levels.First of all, I love the design. It's psychedelic design and mandala in the center just fits my personal taste. I have already received several compliments on it. The quality of the bag is awesome. Made out of nice materials and everything is well padded. The zippers are large and easy to open and close. I am not worried about them getting stuck. There are two zippered pockets in this bag. One of them is large, There is enough room in it to put a guitar cable and possibly a music book into it. The other zippered pouch is smaller. You could easily fit extra guitar strings and a tuner in it.There are several straps on the case. There is one at the top of the bag to allow you to hang it. There is also a handle on the side so you can carry it by hand. One that I really like is the back pack straps so you can carry it hands free on your back. It is actually fairly comfortable. If there are any negatives to this case I have not found it. I highly recommend this case or one of their alternative designed cases.
