This developer has always completely covered my grey. This would be used in place of 20 volume and lifts up to one shade. Always leaves my hair healthy. My personal method is 1. Deep condition the day before coloring 2. Prior to applying color, spray my hair with a precolor treatment (like Ion precolor treatment) 3. Apply color mixture to new growth only and leave on 30 min 4. Apply color mixture to remainder of hair for 10 min to refresh color 5. Shampoo 6.
