A: Probably not. Form is too soft

**Q: will this rust?**
A: The only thing that might rust is the metal grater on the bottom.
I've never had one of these rust before, but they are replaceable.

**Q: Are there replacement blades? Will Stanley blades fit?**
A: It should. The blade should be universal

My students have been using this tool to smooth out leather hard or bone dry clay. We like the smoothness and uniform texture it gives a finished ceramics piece. It is easy to use and seems to be good quality. It can get of little clumps of clay that have attached to the bottom of the piece during the building process. It fits well in the hand. I recommend it for the pottery studio.

I have used this kind of tool to shape styrofoam for years. I somehow lost my old one and replaced it with this. My old one worked on both forward and backwards strokes which was nice. This one sometimes will only shave going 1 direction but if you just go with it, it does a terrific job. Does both detailed work and big area work. Would recommend and buy again.
