The actual Wedge is not as extreme as the photo depicts, so if you want a deep wedge, this is not it. I needed this for use after eye surgery while sleeping on my back in more or less an upright position. I added pillows on top of it to give me more of an upright slant. Now my friend wants to use it for his nasal issues, which are worse when he sleeps flat on his back with a regular pillow. This somehow gives him the lift he needs. I laid on it for a few minutes as my back conformed to it and the pain slowly went away and stayed away all night long. Very comfortable and I even laid on my side once and it was tolerable. When I woke up the next morning my back was 90% better. HUGE relief. Due to chronic sinus issues the only relief was lying flat with my head elevated (e.g., post nasal drip causing coughing or congestion alternately filling sinuses from laying on my side). The wedge is long enough and wide enough that I don’t notice it and sleep through the night - no tossing from side to side!! I place my normal head pillow on top of the wedge. I am 5’6” (the slim edge of the wedge comes half way down my back) and I have broad shoulders (I wear Women XL shirts and the wedge extends about 2 inches beyond each shoulder).
