I now use the single license version of Quick Books and have been satisfied with it and recommend it to you. **Q: Is this software stand-alone, on my computer only? No internet necessary?** A: Yes, that is correct. You have the option to use internet access to add additional users or access the software remotely, however, it is not required. **Q: Does it works on Mac?** A: There is a Mac version. Buyer beware! ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Simple but NOT for the inexperienced bookkeeper *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2013* Thank goodness I understand the accounting process because making corrections to entries on this software can be quite challenging. If you have to reverse an entry or correct an amount, you basically have to find every journal entry and delete it and make sure you did not miss anything. It's not as simple as voiding an entry. I'm the treasurer of our swim team and decided to stop the manual bookkeeping process by using an accounting software package. I chose Express Accounts because it seemed so simple but if I didn't understand the whole debit and credit process and the kinds of journal entries that are created, then I would have screwed up big time with our accounts. I find myself constantly viewing the Journal entries, and the Balance Sheet in order to ensure that our balances are correct.For example, I entered an accounts payable and then a payment for that entry. The amount was wrong so I started by voiding the cheque. You'd think that by voiding the cheque, the whole payment would have been deleted or reversed also. It was not. So I had to find the journal entry for the payment and delete that. Then I had to delete the original accounts payable journal entry. Then I realized that when I was applying payments to accounts payable, the Accounts Payable account was not being debited so I had to go in and manually edit every payment made so that the Accounts Payable account would have decreased accordingly. This whole explanation is probably confusing -- it was confusing to me too. Again, thank goodness I have some bookkeeping background.
