These are amazing when it comes to not overwatering you’re planes. It’s so hot here in Texas you are always tempted to water your plants and don’t realize that there is still a lot of water in the soil depending on the type of soil you use. While the light meter (I can see light with my eyes) and the moisture meter (I can judge moisture by digging down a few inches & looking at & feeling the soil) appeared to work o.k., the pH meter read 7.5 in all areas tested, even a compost pile composed of manure & sawdust. I tested several of the areas chemically & the pH was very acid 6.2 to 6.3 as I had expected. At the suggestion of a neighbor who is a biochemist, I tried cleaning the electrodes with a rough paper towel to remove any oxidation but got the same results. There seem to be many sellers offering this same unit under different branding.
