It replaced an existing pump that I have had for 10 years. It was simple to install and it working great. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Sent it Back *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2015* It was my fault for thinking it was a Polaris unit, it is not. After I had the booster pump installed it wouldn't start. We flipped the power switch on and off 2 or 3 times and it seemed to be jammed. It started running on the 4th try so I thought it just must have been tight inside the unit. After running for about 10 minutes I noticed a puddle under the motor. I checked the hose connections, new but not included with this unit, and they were dry. The motor was very hot and the water was coming from the front end of the motor. I had the unit removed, to be returned. Amazon was totally cooperative on the return. They even arranged for UPS to pick up the unit at my house. Unfortunately this is the second time this month that I have received an item from Amazon that was damaged or defective. While Amazon was more than accommodating, in both instances, it troubles me that these products are sub standard. FYI I was able to get a true Polaris Booster Pump from another online seller for about the same price, and this included the hose and connectors. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Install was straight forward and it went in just fine.
