As nice as I expected! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 8, 2020* This is a hobby of mine. I have several brands and in different keys, etc. One of my fav's is the Clarke original penny whistle, with the wood fipple. I like the softer airy sound of that, but I got the sweetone hoping the fipple would be more responsive, like the Woodi, and it is. For some reason the Sweetone gets some negative criticism from experienced whistle players and I never know why. This whistle is everything I was hoping it would be. It's not quite as airy as the Clarke Original but it still has a bit of that distinct "Clarke" timbre. The Woodi whistles are easy to play in all registers--they're louder than most metal whistles--but they lack of that sharp overtone that so many traditional irish metal whistle have. To me, this Clarke Sweetone is a happy medium. I now have this in C and D. Since its response is fairly clean in all the notes, I would say it's probably a good choice for beginners as well. The only thing that divides these Clarkes from favorable opinions over traditional whistles is the conical shape. I don't mind it. That's actually one of the things I like about the Clarke whistles. I don't know if it's my favorite yet, but I love this, I'm glad I got it for a good price, the fipple makes it sound better, and if you like to add a Clarke to your collection of different whistles I'd even go for this Sweetone before the Clarke Original style.~JSV ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the tone and playability *by on Reviewed in the United States August 9, 2024* Love the tone and playability. I'm addicted to the second octave! The first octave is quiet but also beautiful. Intonation is spot on if you have the right breath pressure. Some of the holes are small for bending notes but with practice you can sound like a pro. I wish I'd bought one of these many years ago. Truly has the musical potential a pro instrument for such a low price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have no experience, but sounds good to me *by on Reviewed in the United States May 30, 2024* First whistle I've bought so, IDK lol, but sounds good to me. Everything sounds in tune. Pretty easy to play, easy to handle. I think all around a good whistle. ## Frequently Bought Together - Clarke Tinwhistle WHISTLE, green (DSTG) - Clarke Tinwhistle Sweetone D Whistle - Red - Clarke Sweetone Tinwhistle in D - Blue --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pe/products/8356813-clarke-sweetone-tinwhistle-in-d-green](https://www.desertcart.pe/products/8356813-clarke-sweetone-tinwhistle-in-d-green) --- *Product available on Desertcart Peru* *Store origin: PE* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
