I needed to relive some shoes and slippers that had worn out inside and they are fine for that. They have a light texture, nothing rough, but enough to hold a little traction. There is no adhesive, but these insoles just stay where placed in the shoe. I, too, had bought the discontinued Kiwi FreshIns a few years ago, and have found these to be perfectly acceptable replacements. There's some other brand sold here on Amazon where all the reviewers mention the late, lamented Kiwis, but I have bought these pink ones in the past and am satisfied with them, so I have bought them again. They're especially good in summer when I don't want to wear socks but also don't want to sweat up my shoes.
