But it needs to be considered when it is connected to the system. **Q: Can this be used to reverse the polarity of the output sent to a device?** A: Not without external circuitry. These are N-channel MOSFETs, and behave similar to NPN switching transistors, providing a switched ground to an external device. One screw contact is for ground, and this is tied to the FET's "source" pin. The other contact is tied to the FET's "drain" pin, and this is the switched ground that is provided to the external device. The other two screw contacts (nearest the board edge) are simply connected to one another, serving as a pass-through for the positive connection to the external device, and are not connected to anything on the circuit board.
