Use Purple - Violet E-3D only on aluminum. It is not intended for use on any other metals or materials. Purple - Violet E-3D can change its shade depending on how the thickness of the anodizing surface and the duration of time in the dye bath. It can be a grayish purple if you do a shorter anodizing cycle. For a longer duration in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath, Purple - Violet E-3D will look like vibrant, bright purple. Make sure to seal with our MT-90 Nickel Acetate sealer directly after dye bath. Purple - Violet E-3D is RoHS compliant and metal free. I think I'll just stick with genuine Caswell dyes from now on.Edit - This was my fault for not being thorough, and I've revised my rating accordingly. The dye is bright orange when mixed in water, but anodized parts do in fact come out in a nice shade of purple.
