I was very surprised with the quality of construction of the Eversecu PTZ camera. Mounting is pretty straight forward with the twist-on bracket. It took only a few minutes to get the camera up and running. Get the RS485 polarity correct and make sure to get the ptz communication setting right, and you are good to go. My only problem was setting the video output format. Instructions on that could be a little more obvious. But, with all that said, this camera replaced one that would have cost over $300, and I am more than satisfied with the picture quality.

Others have reviewed this PTZ camera and pointed out its features and problems quite well, I just wanted to add some information that might help others in setup, and save them a few days of frustration and multiple tech support e-mails.This refers to the Eversecu ES-46F-MX PTZ camera, analog version (BNC connectors, not the POE version). I am using it with a Harbor Freight Cobra 8-channel DVR that supports 2MP (1080P) video. But any similar DVR should work about the same.This camera works best using the RS485 interface to control the motion. This would be the Pelco-D setting in most DVR’s. For first time PTZ users this refers to 2 additional wires that go to from the back of the PTZ camera in addition to the video and power wires. It is tempting to use the UTC (Coax) interface but the fact is that UTC only works with this camera in a very rudimentary way. I confirmed this with tech support who suggested using only RS485. This is unfortunate because if you’re replacing an existing bullet camera that works on coax cable you could avoid running the additional 2 wires if the UTC mode worked well.The proper communication settings in your PTZ setup for this camera are 2400, 8, None, 1. You will also need to put in a unique address for each PTZ camera on your DVR or they will fight each other and you will get an error of some kind. If you only have this camera on your system, you can use address 1 or address 254 which are defaulted into it. If you need to change it, see notes below under Presets. This process is also in the manual if you can puzzle it out.In order to set up and access the OSD (on-screen-display) you need to find where in your DVR menu you can send Preset numbers. On mine that function is on the Live display in the PTZ control box. Once you find that, here are a couple of commonly needed functions:• Preset 95 – brings up the OSD. Once you can see the OS Display, play with the zoom and focus controls to get in and out and change settings if needed. After several seconds if it doesn’t see a keystroke the menu will disappear.• Preset 91, then Preset # will set the address # if you want to use something other than 1 or 254. This is a 2 stage process, sending 2 sequential presets.• Preset 40 supposedly resets the camera to factory defaults, but I had no luck getting that to work for some reason. That function also exists in the OSD menu.The manual lists a number of other preset functions that relate to cruising which I did not experiment with.My observations on the camera are that it is optically pretty good and seems to stack up well with my 2MP bullet cameras. It is built solidly. Night performance is adequate and compares well to the 2MP bullet cameras. It has a pretty full slate of internal functions to tweak exposure and night/day function. It does not elevate to quite 90 degrees (horizontal) but there is a 3 hole mounting plate so it’s pretty easy to shim it so it can get a few degrees higher than its internal limit. As others mentioned, there is video noise during the PTZ motor runs but that disappears when the camera settles. There was also a low level of video noise when using my small wall-wart power supply but that disappeared when I installed the much more robust PS that came with the camera, so the filtering of the included PS is quite good.Overall this is a good camera for the price…just wish the documentation was better or the company had a knowledge-base on their website. A detailed description of what all of the internal OSD settings mean would be very helpful, as most buyers of a product at this price point are likely not security system professionals but homeowners looking for an inexpensive but adequate security product.

Worked for about 6 months. Will move L R U D but just constant motor running and clicking noise. Wont focus at all. Blurry and useless

This camera works great. UTC works as stated. Great night led lighting. Can use as color night vision if set up through menu. Camera was easy to set up with no difficulty. 1080 resolution looks very clear. I will be buying more to replace some older bullet cameras. Great price ! a well constructed aluminum body with a good size O ring to keep out the weather. I like the fact that the dome is dark so you can’t see where the lens is facing.It’s small and doesn’t stick out like some of those bigger PTZ cams out there. Would definitely recommend this product.

When I was looking for a ptz camera I came across this little bad boy. After reading the specs on this and saw the price I told myself can’t go wrong. So when I received the camera it was small in size perfect it will fit in the spot where I want it and won’t hang down. After installing the camera I checked out the video it’s very clear and the PTZ function works as expected. If only the camera came with a better manual it would be a lot easier for a beginner to use the functions of the PTZ. But if you are looking for an inexpensive ptz camera go and purchase this one.

Worked like a champ for about three months then went dark, no power, no life.Tried other power supplies just to be sure and it would flicker and pan and tilt once (the boot up) then dies again.Now won’t power up at all.Absolutely no customer support !***Read that again***Looking for replacement, learned my lesson with the cheap stuff!

I’ve been using this camera for a couple of months now without any issues at all. Picture quality is very sharp and the night vision is perfect for seeing any critters trying to knock over the trash can at night..Setup was simple just plug and play, the size is perfect for hanging it on the top corner of my house eves. It’s not an eyesore when walking towards the front of the house.. would like to have one at all corners of my house now.
