That being said several pet families use this to easily navigate through the airport. We have had a few reports that some airlines will allow this on the plane. But definitely check with them before you try to fly. **Q: Can you wear this on the front as well as the back?** A: Yes you can. The dog will be facing you and you will likely need help clipping the sternum strap. Many pet owners wear the K9 Sport Sack in this manner especially if their dog experiences high anxiety. **Q: Reason why these bags chose to be designed without an opening for the tail to hang out of? Assume having to keep their tails tucked in would hurt them** A: You should contact K9 directly for a proper answer. I’ve carried my dog for 1/2-1hr in the bag, and it doesn’t seem to affect his tail being tucked in at all. Usually towards the end of the hour, he gets antsy more for his legs being confined than any problems with his tail. I would guess that creating an opening for the tail would have three problems: one would be it weakens the bottom of the bag, reducing the amount of weight/size of dog that could subsequently be carried; the second would be how would you get the tail through the opening. Would you pull the tail straight through? I doubt a dog would like the feeling of that. Would you make the opening big enough to bend the tail through? Now you’re talking about opening the whole bottom of the bag up, and how would you close that up to keep the bottom strong enough to support the weight. Finally, with a tail hanging out, there are all sorts of possibilities of injury to the tail; if you’re riding a bike, would it dangle down to the rear wheel. Could it snag on bushes/branches if you’re out hiking. If you’re in a crowd, is it going to get bumped or grabbed. A dog properly positioned in the bag would not have any weight on the tail, his weight should be on his butt. If the weight is on the tail, you may be leaning back too much. **Q: I have a 16lb corgi puppy, but he will obviously grow to possibly 25-30lbs. Should i get a medium or large?** A: I have a 23# and 33# corgi and both fit in the large. And he looked very comfortable in it. Haven't found a lot of bags that can hold that big of a dog. He's very tall also for a pug. I had to order the large, but it fit and he wouldn't get out of it when I put him down on the ground. The cons are that it's not that easy to get the dog in, at least for me, yet. I've only used it twice however. And it was difficult the first time, to get the dog in and be able to zip it up, the second he was in pretty quickly. I feel like for me, I need someone to help me hold the bag up around their legs while I zip it. At least until I'm better at it. I actually bought this bag for my other pug who is very arthritic and old and cannot walk very far because I want to take her to some trails so she can explore and smell before she's unable to walk at all. Haven't put her in it yet because I don't want to mess with her legs too much until I'm actually taking her someone, but I know she will fit now. The only question I have about this bag is that the bottom is narrow so the dogs butt/back end/legs really wouldn't have much room it seems like to be very comfortable. And since their back legs have to stay in the bag it just seems to squished up to me. Not sure if they would be hurting after being squished up like that too long. Also if the dogs not light weight it's definelty going to be hard to carry them. I know I won't make it far with my dog in the bag, but that's okay, the bag does serve the purpose.
