The bar has given them slivers and the frame doesn't line up well which makes it hard to raise and lower. I contacted the seller on replacement parts with no results. I didn't want to have to send the whole thing back for a few bad pieces. **Q: Is the item good for a 10 year old girl** A: I would say yes the beam is good for any age and so is the mat. The bar extends pretty high. I bought this for my daughter who is nine and she loves it. We are thinking we might need to use something to weight it down a little more when she is doing bigger stunts on the bar but so far it hasn't tipped. The only negative I have is that the bar itself when is not very good quality the wood is splintering but we are talking to the vendor to see if they will send us a new on and the bar is also very hard to adjust because it's not lining up correctly due to another part that we are also seeing if the seller will replace. I just put it together, it arrived with rust on numerous spots on the bar. It must be stored outside in the elements, because it is wrapped in shrink wrap style plastic, that trapped water under it causing it to rust. The plastic also doesn't peel off easily....I'm assuming it has melted on in the heat, so it's like peeling off sunburned skin. It's still stuck all over the bar after over an hour of trying to peel it off. The metal shafts of the bar are covered in scratches and the paint nicked off in numerous spots. The instructions are just a picture, no steps.....mine did not come with the pieces pictured. Once assembled, it is easy to see that the bars are crooked and the bolts for assembly are not proper size, that when fully tightened there is lots of wiggling at the base. The actual wooden bar itself has dents in it, which could cause splinters. This product is terrible!!!!! I read the reviews of others with these experiences, but I hoped they were flukes. Now I'm learning the hard way and want my money back. Some reviewers said it comes with a mat and in multiple shipments. I can attest that it arrived in one box and does not come with a mat.
