Its an easy set up of the tone arm and anti scate mechanism. But do take care on doing this. Patience prevails to that brilliant sound quality being heard. Being fully automatic, theres no wear to the needle when the record finishes. Hence having to take the tone arm off manually. Yes some of the reviews to this t/t state the buttons on the selectors for 7 or 12 inch records, and the start, stop buttons are a bit on the flimsy side. But for the price value, it's just a small ? to this other wise superb deck. I've got my deck hooked up to a Marantz 5007 intergrated amplifier, and sonus floor standing speakers, it sounds awesome. ( oh by the way before setting up the t/t make sure to switch the button on the deck to OFF if using an amp, its under the t/t disc. follow the instruction manual, it states this at the beginning of setting up deck). So, all in all, this Denon deck is a sheer delight to have in my lounge. Just one other point, more reviews state the needle needs upgrading as the one supplied is inexpensive and seems the sound quality is insufficient. Well, i can honestly say it isn't a problem with my hi-fi system as yet. This deck is worth every penny spent.
