Would there ever be an issue with the foam coming apart and sticking to the wood floor?** A: I have had mine for over a year on hardwood, and I have moved twice (rolled it up to move) it's still in one piece and has no tears or rips in it, and has not gotten stuck to any of my floors. **Q: Safe for hardwoods ?** A: Definitely. **Q: does the 8x10 still come in 2 pieces as noted in some comments? that would be a deal-breaker for me...** A: Denise, Spillguard only goes in 6' width rolls so anything larger would be two pieces that are taped together. The ones in the hall are now completely done.... from all the moving and slipping around, plus my cats get under the rug and scratch it to little bits all over the floor. I probably wouldn't recommend for a hall runner if you have pets, they may eat the little bits that come off from scratching and chewing. the ones in my living room and bedrooms are great as it is held down by heavy furniture. The edges over time it flattens out and sticks out from under the rug. suggest cutting it about 2" shorter than the top rug if it is a large room or you will might have to move your furniture to trim it... . When I went to clean my wood floors recently, i rolled them off and no damage to the floors, no stains, no discoloration. floors looked great and the pads were still in decent condition for age, no spill stains either on the wood from kitties and spilled drinks.
