Review: Arthritis in feet - MIRACLE SPRAY - I have arthritis in both feet with the right foot being worse/bigger from previous gout. I bought real leather shoes for a 1920s themed party but for years have had issues with the tops of shoes being painfully tight. I bought leather because it can stretch and picked a style I liked and would wear again since they were pricey. I got my super cute t-strap shoes, tried them on and to no surprise they HURT. And I mean, feet-on-fire-can't-stand-up-for-longer-than-5-minutes hurt. For a brief time, I considered bringing other shoes to the party but that is not ideal as I love dressing up to a theme. I am also short on money so first I attempted to shove a can of spray adhesive into the toe and left it overnight. That worked a little but not enough. So I came back on desertcart in search of actual shoe stretchers. I found some but they were a bit pricey and I also have very large feet so I couldn't be sure of the quality and size of them. I saw this spray as a much more affordable option, but was extremely skeptical so I did research and check reviews across multiple sites. I decided to go ahead and try it out. At first, I used a small jar of molasses with the spray and again, that helped a little. When I tried the shoes on again, the tops were majorly improved but the sides still pinched a lot. I eventually found small balloons I had filled with sand and used as balloon weights. These were firm but malleable so they should work. I don't remember how many times I sprayed the shoes down but I was generous with the spray and made sure to rub it in with my fingers to the shoe so it didn't stain or discolor anywhere. I used a tissue to wipe away excess spray in spots where it was too concentrated. Let that sit overnight and took them out today. I can visible see the areas where they are now stretched. YAY! Today, my feet are very swollen so I decided to see how the stretch I had achieved so far would work in case they are swollen for the party. OUCH! This time I decided to try the wear-with-socks method. I sprayed, rubbed and wiped and walked around my house a bit. OMG!!! IMMEDIATE results!!! Within 5 minutes, I could feel relief! Not 100% but waaaaaay better than it was. I took them off and did another coat with the balloons again focusing on the sides where it burned and pinched the most even after the last spray because of the swelling. I will check again tomorrow and if still no improvement I will have to assume the shoes have reached maximum stretch but I HIGHLY recommend this spray (at least for leather). It is 100% worth it!
Review: Holey 💩!! - My husband bought me these $$ Michael Kors boots in a similar style to doc martins . I have RIDICULOUSLY wide feet after the birth of my kids as well as a high instep . These boots were way too tight...so much so that the heel of my foot would slide up and down because the front of my foot was locked in so tight. I brought them to this fancy looking cobbler near my office on Beacon Hill in Boston...figure the guy services all the lawmakers and bougie people with $$ shoes so he must know his ish... Paid like $45 to have the them stretched. When I picked them up he told me he had stretched them as much as was possible without damaging the boots. I said how would the boots become damaged and he said that the sides would start to separate away from the bottom of the boot if stretched too much. I took him at his word that this was the best I could hope to get and went home to utter disappointment 😥 the boots were BARELY any better than before and I was relegated to wearing these beauty's to occasions like house parties when I knew I wouldn't be walking much 😭😭 While looking for something else I happened across this spray and said WHAT THE HECK....Can't hurt.... I bought the spray and a pair of boot stretchers. Both items came within a day. Great shipping for both sellers. Thank you. I literally just sprayed the inside and the outside of these boots put the boot stretchers in and stretch the crap out of them. Left them for a couple of hours. They seemed mostly dry. I took out one of the boot stretchers and put my foot in and holy guacamole. It was like night and day. The width is absolutely perfect now. So comfortable. The only part that's still a little bit tight is the instep and by instep I hope I'm calling a correctly. I mean the top of your foot. I have very high arch and so my instep is very steeply slanted and so it's always pressing up against the top side of the boots. Sometimes it's comfortable sometimes not. I resprayed these boots and put the stretchers back in with the instep stretching attachments that were included and I am expecting that after the second spray they're going to be perfect. I don't understand why the guy on beacon Hill doesn't have this same spray? I almost want to go over there and bring it to him and ask him why did he charge me more for the stretching he did then it cost me to buy both of these items and his stretching barely did anything? For the price that they're charging, I highly recommend that you pick this up. It can't hurt and worst case you're just left back where you started from but I can pretty much guarantee if it stretched out these boots. It's going to work on anything. These boots are very heavy, thick leather. Like I said, similar to doc Martin's, I wasn't even sure that it was able to stretch them because of the thickness and density of the material. It hasn't damaged the leather. It hasn't made any funny lines or creases. The leather is black. There's no hazing or anything on it. I highly recommend.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it really work?**
A: Effectiveness varies by shoe material. Leather stretches more than synthetics. Stretching may require time and multiple applications. For lasting results, use with a stretcher device.

**Q: Will this stain / discolor my shoes or boots?**
A: Our spray won't stain colorfast shoes, but testing is recommended. Spray a small amount on an inconspicuous area and wait for it to dry to check for adverse reactions. Temporary darkening may occur due to wetness but will return to normal when dry.

**Q: How to apply? Do I apply inside or outside? With or without stretcher device?**
A: To apply FootMatters Shoe Stretch Spray: 1. Prep shoes. 2. Shake bottle. 3. Test inconspicuous area. 4. Spray inside/outside shoes in ventilated space. 5. Use stretcher device or wear with thick socks. 6. Repeat as needed for desired stretch.

**Q: Does it have a strong smell? Should I apply it in a well ventilated area or wear a mask?**
A: FootMatters Shoe Stretch Spray has a strong initial scent, but it's not toxic. Use it in a well-ventilated area for faster dissipation. If sensitive to odors or have respiratory issues, use in an extra ventilated area and consider wearing a mask.

**Q: Can shoes be waterproofed before or after waterproofing is applied? Can it be used on waterproof materials?**
A: FootMatters Shoe Stretch Spray penetrates fibers for stretching but won't work on permanently waterproof materials. Use before waterproofing. If shoes are already treated, applying inside may have minor effects.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helped Loosen Up Tight Shoes
*by D***R on September 8, 2025*

This spray worked like giving my shoes a little “yoga session.” I had a pair of leather flats that always pinched in the same spot, and after using this spray with a shoe stretcher, they softened up enough to wear comfortably. It goes on easily, just spray the inside where the tightness is, slip on the shoes (or use a stretcher), and let them adjust. The leather felt more pliable without losing its shape or finish, almost like the material got a gentle massage. I’ve tried it on suede too, and it did the job without leaving stains. The bottle isn’t huge, but you don’t need a lot for it to work, so it lasts longer than I expected. Overall, it’s a handy fix if you have shoes that fit “almost right” but need that extra bit of give.
