    Needs a little bit better lip to hold it from falling below the skimmer rim

I have to replace this basket about two to three times a year.  :-/  What happens is the leaves will fill up the basket during fall and winter storms, and if I don't catch it right, the basket will be sucked under the rim of the skimmer and has to be cracked and broken apart to get it back out.  Not sure what to do about this since it does prevent the skimmer from total loss of water flow. However, something else needs to be done.  Any suggestions out there are much appreciated!  I have to order another basket today. :-(  Surely there is a better solution.

I have a hayward skimmer from the 90's and this fit it exactly. No issues, seems well made and hope it lasts a while. Minus 1 star for being a little more costly than something like this should be in my opinion.

Does this basket fit?  Yes.  Is it an identical quality to the OEM ones?  Not at all. This basket is a lightweight cheap version that will float up off the seat every time it’s not in use, causing it to block the inlet flapper and restrict water coming into the basket area and cause the pool pump to suck in air, cavitating (ruining) your pool pumps.  I’m throwing it away today and going to the pool store to get the heavier duty original one today.
