Oil is impossible to get off of plastic containers, you can wash them once, twice or even three times, and they still won't be clean. Glass is great, but too heavy and doesn't stack or nest well, so they take up a lot of space when empty. These coated steel containers are perfect - oil comes off with one wash, they're lighter than glass, and they store compactly.The quality was much better than I expected. I have a similar set, handed down from my dad, where the coating is chipped and the lids are cracked. This new set is made from much thicker gauge steel and heavier, thicker plastic for the lids as well. The plastic for the lids is also rather soft and pliable, so I don't see them cracking any time soon. Perhaps with age, they'll get more brittle and prone to cracking, but so far, I don't think they'd be easy to crack at all.I use these strictly for storage, and I don't microwave or wash them with a dishwasher. Those two restrictions don't bother me, I don't need to microwave in them and I wash everything by hand anyway.I'm planning on replacing most of my plastic containers with these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love it, use it all the time! *by Y***E on January 29, 2022* I bought this a while ago and I wasn't sure about buying online. They wash great in dishwasher and the lids fit snug. The lids go over the sides. This is great for fruit as it keeps it colder. Great for leftovers. NO microwave but that's okay with me I like reheating in the oven or I just use another micro safe dish. They store well inside each other so they really don't take up a lot of space in a cabinet. Since friends want sets of these I'm making a list for birthdays and ill fill each container with something personal for them.There are several patterns to choose from.
