This book is a great way to keep them interested and cutting things they are SUPPOSED to cut. ;) The book instructs parents to cut the project from the page for the child, but I just tear out an entire page and hand it to them, and that's one more line they get to cut. The pages are stiff enough to be easy for them to manage, but no so stiff as to be hard to cut. It is a bit basic for my 4 year old, so it's more a toy than educational for her, but I'll still buy more when they've finished chopping up this one because they enjoy it so much and it keeps them busy. The books are sequential -- kids practice cutting simple lines, then curves, etc before moving onto more sophisticated projects. The pictures are really cute and colorful and the projects are interesting to preschool aged children.
