You'll have to fold the ribbon once or twice depending on how long the ribbon is. Once it's in there You can place the outter frames back. I hope that helps. **Q: Is there framing hardware on the back of the frame, i.e, a hook or wires?** A: The frame has a small opening a hook can be inserted into. Ours is displayed on a shelf so it leans against the wall without using the hole. There are 4 rubber tabs on each corner to keep the back of the frame from being scratched. **Q: Can this frame be hung?** A: Yes, this frame was designed to be able to hang on a wall as it has a keyhole in the back. When I originally purchased the item I neglected to read the full description so I didn't realize all of the pieces were actually held together by magnets, but it is a really cool design! The magnets are great and make it easy to get the medal displayed just the way I wanted. The frame looks great and is of high quality, but the best part is how the black background highlights the medal itself as the focal point. I will definitely make a repeat purchase on this item so I can display more of the medals I have earned. Will also check out their other products. Maybe I'm just picky but I wanted something that really popped and to me, this did it. I got it, unpacked it, and it's all held together with magnets. I kind of stumbled around to put it together and I wasn't impressed at all. It looks nice, but it takes the right touch to get what you want out of it.
