I spent a lot of time researching back supports on Amazon and what intrigued me most about this one is the contoured lumbar pad in the back. None of the others I researched had one so that's why I decided to give this one a try and I'm so glad I did! Once I put the support belt on the lumbar pad brought instant pain relief to my lower back and it felt sooo good! It's a generous 9"x7" in size and the inward pressure and support eased my pain to where I could walk without being hunched over and sit without becoming sore and stiff. Whoever invented that lumbar pad is a freaking genius for sure!! My abdominal/hip area is 43" and the large fit me perfect to where I have approx 4" of velcro overage in front. My husband has lower back issues too and and can wear this as well even though his abdominal/hip area measures 38". The large cost $22.25 at time of purchase and it was well worth every penny! Most of the other back supports I researched cost more, even triple the price yet none of them have lumbar pads! I can't rave about this back support highly enough! The mesh is cooler than regular fabric. I wear it against a light shirt, pull my pants over it, with an overshirt for inside work in the winter. I wear it oustside of my shirt in the summer. It significantly decreases my back discomfort while im moving scaffolds, paint buckets and equipment. I'm not tall, but this works fine for me. The price is exceptional too. I got an extra large, and the extra tightening tabs you can adjust makes the perfect fit. Some days I need less support, some days more.
