Control fan speed, thermostat and air intake/exhaust flush-mount ceiling keypad. Long-life, sealed ball bearing 12-volt fan motor moves over 900 cubic feet of air per minute, quickly and efficiently pulling fresh air in and removing hot, stale air and odors. Run fan with lid closed to circulate air inside your RV like a ceiling fan. Exterior flange has waterproof, molded mounting holes for easy installation of MaxxAir vent covers. Interior insect screen is easy to remove for cleaning. Fits all standard 14'' x 14'' roof openings. White lid closes securely for low profile appearance. Review: I purchased this fan for my Class B, it worked for two days. The next day, it turned on by itself and never stopped. I had a technician look at it, turned out the circuit board went bad and needed to be replaced for 50$ approximately. I can't return the item sadly cus it has been installed already. I managed to buy it for half price, no one wonder why it happened.

Now when I turn it on, the fan starts spinning for a few seconds before it stops and the machine starts beeping loudly for a minute. I've read all the troubleshooting suggestions on the internet and tried multiple things to reset and fix it, but nothing has worked. I didn't do anything to effect the fan or circuit board in any way. I believe the circuit board needs to be replaced which I have contacted Maxxair about, but I'm not optimistic since I ordered it through desertcart. Take caution. Once you cut the hole in the roof and install the fan, you want to be sure it works! Having an opening in the ceiling isn't that bad, but I could have done it much cheaper myself.

**Q: Does anyone know what vent cover fits this model? Thank you.**
A: Officially the MaxxAir FanMate is the correct cover. I already had a MaxxAir II and put that back on top of it. It works fine. Vent doesn't fully open but it opens plenty... as much as it does with any other vent.

**Q: Does this fan use PWM (in essence, pulsing the power to control speed) or resistors (which drain battery power faster)?**
A: i'm not sure, but i try to conserve electricity and i haven't had any problems leaving this fan set to the Auto setting at 78ºF.  the fan is quiet and has a brushless motor i believe. i am particular about accessories and their design.  i like this fan a lot.  i've also installed the vent cover on mine and often leave the vent open for days at a time with no issues. i highly recommend this fan.

**Q: does this unit come with the inside trim garnish?**
A: I bought two of these and both came with the inside trim. 14 inch square.  Everything needed to finish the job was in the box. I also bought the adhesive from Amazon.

**Q: I asked earlier about the fan height , but I wasn't specific enough. I'm sorry. What is the height as it sits on the roof after installation?**
A: It's about 3 inches when the vent cover is closed.

I have installed Fan-tastic fans on RV's for years. This time around I thought I would try the lesser known Maxxair fan. What a pleasant surprise! Significantly less expensive than the comparable Fan-tastic fan, 10 forward and reverse speeds and the ability to run the fan with the vent closed for interior air circulation. The controls are digital and easy to operate. The fan is almost completely silent when used at speeds 5 and below, getting louder as speeds increase but never to the point of being irritating. The integral thermostat is accurate and shuts the fan off at the selected temperature. Installation is identical to the Fan-tastic Fan - not difficult but time consuming to remove the sealant from the fan being replaced and the RV's roof. For those of you who are aware of the forthcoming Zombie Squirrel Acropolis, this vent locks from the inside providing another level of protection from the zombie squirrels.
