Review: The BEST for repairing shoes! - We've used Shoe Goo for probably 20 years, to repair and extend the life of our shoes. We use it to re-glue on a sole if it pulls away from the shoe, or to plug up cracks or holes that would allow water to get in. It works like a charm on hiking boots, work boots, tennis shoes, and even sandals. We get better results from using several thin layers, allowing them to dry a bit before adding the next layer. Once several layers are applied, we press together the two parts and clamp them. The next day the shoe is good as new! It dries strong and flexible, much like the original sole. Shoe Goo is one of those products you don't think about a lot, but you sure want it in the work bench drawer when you need it!
Review: Don't use this product for shoe repair! - This product is extremely messy and will get all over your shoes and hands (use gloves if you must handle it). Also there is a warning on the package that it is a carcinogen and should not be inhaled. This black gooey mess will get all over your shoes and everywhere else. It does not dry quickly if you are trying to repair shoe soles, so the soles will keep sliding all over the place and when it finally hardens your shoe soles will be stuck in whatever position that they have slid to and you will not be able to reposition them. Don't waste your money on this if you are repairing shoes!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does it work good for gluing rubber grip pad to leather shoe soles?**
A: Although, I've never tried to use Show Goo for gluing rubber grip pad to leather shoe soles, I am 99.9% sure that Shoe Goo will work as long as the bottom of the leather shoes are free of any dirt or oil. It wouldn't hurt to scuff up the bottom of the leather soles with a coarse grit sand paper so that you can achieve a better bond.P.S.- My Grandfather was a shoe maker for more than 40 years and this stuff works just like the stuff that he'd bring home from the factory.

**Q: What about colors? I need brown. Does it come in colors?**
A: The colors available in the buying selection is Black or Clear.

**Q: Will this stick a sole that has come off completely from the rest of the shoe?**
A: It does not have adhesive qualities. The product is more like shoe sole material in gel form that dries solid, but rubbery.

**Q: Can this product replace a small rectangular heel protector that came off the shoe and was lost? Can it build up the heel?**
A: I would say "Maybe." It may depend on the base material to which you are applying it. It is possible they have changed the formulation, but here is my experience. Years ago I was a pretty avid runner. The heels of my running shoes would wear very quickly even though the shoes still had plenty of life. Every month or two I would use Shoe Goo to build the heels back up to level, a layer about 1/8" at the deepest area around the edge. The patch would last through another 200-300 miles, and I would do it again. One of the hardest parts was peeling off the old patch! By that time there was usually a loose edge somewhere that I could get a grip, but it was REALLY hard to pull off. Now, one thing I always do when applying adhesives, including Shoe Goo, is to clean the area well, then, as a last step, wipe it thoroughly with alcohol. This removes any traces of oil. Let it dry for a few minute and apply Shoe Goo. Unless the base material is just naturally resistant to adhesives, I do not see why it will not work for you. I have also used Shoe Goo to build up worn heels on dress shoes, re-glue loose soles, etc. For rebuilding a worn heel, where the thickest part of the patch is at the edge, I would simply apply plain old scotch tape to the side of the area, letting it extend above the surface 1/4" or so. This provides a form to keep the Shoe Goo from just running off. It is pretty thick goo so this is not always necessary, but thicker applications will ooze. If are trying to fill, say, 1/8" or more I would prop the shoe(s) upside down to keep the Shoe Goo area as level as possible, and leave them for a couple of days. Thin applications cure pretty fast, but thicker ones may need more time. I cannot swear it will work for your application, but I used it as described above on the heels of heavily-used running shoes MANY times. Even on running shoes, where the heels take most of the wear and tear, Shoe Goo NEVER failed. Now if the spot you are trying to fill is really thick, over 1/8", I would do that in two thinner layers, allowing the first to cure thoroughly before applying the second.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixes my sole.
*by A***Y on April 25, 2012*

I have been running in minimal running shoes, and my left foot lands off-center due to some issue with my form. This has caused significant wear spots to appear in the same spot on several pairs of shoes. I was pretty annoyed that I was going to have to buy more shoes even though most of those shoes is fine. However, I happened on this product and figured I would buy it. So far, I find it to work better that I would have guessed. I cover the wear holes in the soles of my shoes with the goo and it lasts for 20 or more miles between applications. It appears that there are quite a few applications in the tube, say at least 30 for the size of my wear spot, so that means I basically bought a pair of running shoes that lasts 600 miles for a very low price. I'm satisfied.
