First I tried a metal washer between that batteries and thread on cap, but I couldn't get the cap on. I've been using mine for a month or more now. I appreciate that the height is adjustable. I'm tall, and the extra length helps. I appreciate that it is collapsible, and comes with the clip necessary to *keep* it collapsed. Where it literally falls down on the job: the wider base doesn't make it particularly stable when it's standing on its own. And the last time it fell over, the light in the handle broke. Not sure if I can repair it or not. First I'll need to find the lens. Which has likely rolled behind the toilet, the least accessible place in my house. Did I mention that I'm a bit mobility challenged? Also, the lens housing looks molded in, rather than something removable and replaceable, so I'd have to rely on plastic cement to fix it if I *did* find it. So it goes. The light was useful a couple of times, enough that I'll miss it.
