I have problems flat out memorizing facts and I take advantage of little memory tricks and mnemonics when I can. Let me say, this book was perfect for me. It has little stories and rhymes, pictures and songs to help remember things like TSI slant reactions, warm/cold antibodies for blood bank, hypothyroidism vs hyperthyroidism, etc. Now, I must say that the book in a whole is an outline over all the material and shouldn't be used as the only book you should study from (I used mine in conjunction with my class notes, textbooks etc.). Plus, I found that there were subjects missing from the book, like the different vitamins and quality control aspects. Other than that, I would highly recommend this book. As a microbiology tech at a medium sized hospital, I recommend this book to every MLS student that comes through on their clinical rotation. I actually let them borrow my copy, and every one of them has come back and said that the book has helped them study for the BOC. I keep mine around just in case one day I need it again.....
