Therefore, NOT REALLY an auto shutoff. Not defective, it is designed this way. It turns off when the temp gets too high after boiling water off but BECAUSE THE MANUAL SWITCH IS STILL ON, when it then cools down it turns back on, heats up turns back off, etc., until, I suppose, it will burn itself up and set your house on fire. I watched it go through at least 6 of these on/off cycles, getting drier and more burned on the bottom tray each time. ALSO, the plug is not polarized and is missing the "hole" at the end of each contact which makes it meet US codes, just 2 equal straight flat pieces of metal. Auto shut off SHOULD mean I can leave the house with it on and NOT burn my house down. This item does not do that unless you are there to unplug it or manually flip the switch to off. Kind of defeating the purpose of an auto-shut off. It does cook eggs. I returned it. ### ⭐ It's NOT What's It'S Cracked UP To BE!!!! *by A***R on December 6, 2018* I ordered this product November 21, 2018, was delivered November 23, 2018 and I used today 12/6/18 for the first time, so reading the direction it say to turn to a certain time on the timer. low and behold there's timer so how do I suppose to time something without a timer, please tell me. I do not like product and I would appreciate if you would send me another with a timer or refund me. A friend of mine have one and it's awesome does great, the egg cooker shut off everytime do you see the problem.
