Better than expected! And I expected a lot!
First, let's start with why I even started this review - I had a recommendation to make and I thought this would be a good way to make it. Now, after I started writing, I was examining my paint set and I realized that the thing I was going to recommend WAS ALREADY THERE! I was going to say they could make the whole thing just slightly better by adding in some pallet-space or dimples into the base frame. But, they already have an entire TRAY for pallet space. They beat me to my own recommendation!Anyway, this is a great little travel watercolor set! I got it because it fits in my cargo pockets or briefcase (messenger bag) and is completely self contained. There are a variety of shades of colors to go with any kind of project. The set comes with three water-color brushes where you just put water in and squeeze it out - pretty handy for on-the-go painting. I'm show you some of my art, but I'm terrible, so .. the paints are awesome! But they won't make you a Bob Ross on day one.

This ingenious palette made me love watercolor
This innovative, well-designed travel palette features 42 quality watercolors that perform near the top of student grade, equivalent to the MeiLiang and Miya student grade palettes. The 42 colors are mostly clear and translucent. The ones that aren't translucent are mostly the colors you'd expect to have opacity, such as white, and yellow ochre. All but a couple have great color payoff, and the palette includes Mars Purple and Ultramarine Violet, two colors I wouldn't expect to find in a fourteen dollar palette. None of the colors dries chalky. The fan design has a few drawbacks, notably 1) the top color of each fan is hard to reach, and 2) you'd better be SURE to let the fans dry before you close them, or they'll stick together. However, for my use case at least, the space-saving layout outweighs these tradeoffs especially since you can retain access to both mixing trays while moving different fans out of your way. These mixing areas are generous given the overall size of the palette. The water brushes are well-made. Over three years ago I bought this, and have used it often, and I'm still using the larger round one. Finally, there's just a magical charm to this little palette that makes me want to paint. It's like opening a tiny jewel box of color. In fact, seeing this palette in a YouTube journaling video singlehandedly awakened a great love for and desire to watercolor. Every time I see it, I just plain want to paint!

Very pigmented, easy to use, portable, and affordable.
This palette is so versatile and very pigmented. Almost all of the shades are vibrant and each one is great for painting quick “doodles” or for layering and shading a huge piece. The one color that I have found to be a little dull is the black. Another one of my palettes has a black is very dark and deep while this one is more of a gray that has to be layered a bunch to get any color out of it. Will definitely be buying again once I paint through this one.

Fun, easy to use, and affordable!
So far, I'm enjoying this product! The colors are pretty vibrant (the C16 is lovely!) a few are kind of weak (like the C18), which is to be expected. I actually dropped it and it didn't break, and the paints didn't pop out, so it's pretty sturdy, I think. I found that the trays flopped around a bit if you just pull out the 1 tray. So when you paint, it's better to pull out all the trays below instead of the one you want to use. Also, the paint does transfer to the tray above if you close it before the paint dries. The mixing area is nice, but kinda small, I didn't find it too be that useful. I guess you could also use the bottom to mix. Otherwise, my kids and I had a lot of fun playing with it. The price was very good considering you get 42 colors and a water brush. I haven't tried the water brush yet, but I feel like they are all pretty much the same.Overall, PROS:- Fun, vibrant colors (let's be honest a few are quite similar to the other, but it's ok)- Easy to use and comes with everything you need to paint (other than paper)- Pretty sturdy (dropped it and paints didn't pop out)- Cheap so I didn't mind my kids destroying it (they like to mix the paints a lot, cuz they are 3 and 5 years old)CONS:- The hinge is loose, so it wouldn't really stay put unless you use a rubber band of some sort. The trays kind of flop around.- The colors have no names and the numbering system on the bottom of pretty useless. The stickers are also already peeling off, so I'm pretty sure that those will be gone soon.- Mixing area is pretty tiny, and stains really easily (which is common for plastic palettes, but just a warning in case you care)

Wow! Loads of colors!
I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of colors in this set! I'm a complete beginner in watercolor and thought more was better. I'm no longer sure that's true, honestly. But if you want lots, this is it. Each color group is on a little 'arm' and can swing out of the pack independently. The pigments seem intense, so you don't need much to really go. The paints seem to react nicely with water, flow nicely on watercolor paper and do a nice job. I have actually set this pack to the side and am preferring a pack with less paint colors, more mixing is required this way, but I seem to like that. However, there's nothing wrong with these paints that I can tell, they're nice, and there are truly a lot of colors in a nice little compact holder, perfect for a traveler.

5 Stars
I just got these in the mail so I haven’t had time to use these for a long time, however, I love them so far. Great quality for the price. I wanted a watercolor set that I can just throw in my bag and use whenever and I feel that this set is perfect for that. I like that it has a mixing palette at the back and the sponge on the front. Plus the spot to hold a brush is convenient. I’ve swatched all of the colors and they have great color pigment. A few of the colors I kept blending out a bit to see how much they would water down and they all did very well. They also dry quite fast. I am not a pro in any way, I only paint for fun in my free time and this watercolor set is perfect for that. These were swatched on Canson Mixed Media (98 lb) paper and caused little to no wrinkling after the paints dried.
