I applied it around 7:00 pm exactly according to the directions. I left it on for 25 minutes, then rinsed it off in the shower with soap and water. At about 3:30 am, I woke up with intense burning in my beard/mustache area. My bottom lip had swollen to about twice its normal size and felt numb. I immediately tried washing again with soap and water, but it didn’t help. Soon after, I saw yellowish fluid oozing from my skin. That’s when I realized this wasn’t a minor irritation—it was getting serious fast. I shaved off all facial hair to try to remove any remaining product, but I still had to dab the fluid off my skin constantly; it would run down my chin and drip. I ended up seeking medical care. The doctor prescribed prednisone and an antibiotic cream and warned me about the risk of infection. This wasn’t just uncomfortable—it disrupted my life. I lost a half day of work and missed a family event. I’m on day 3 as I write this and I’m still dealing with inflammation, numbness and oozing in multiple areas. I have to wear a face mask with a medical pad underneath just to be able to return to work. At least three layers of skin have peeled off in my beard area, and I honestly don’t know yet whether I’ll be able to regrow my beard/mustache.
