The idea of having to flatten and not recharge until has lost every volt is back in the dark ages of Ni Cad batteries that had their memory upset by recharging when half flat. Anyhow this little rock is a gem and works like a charm. I recommend it all the time.as it works well and is pretty good value. A clever design for sure. I just wished both sides got hot. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for back pain *by W***6 on 11 May 2017* I have now bought two of these for my other half and she raves about them, not for the hand-warming (although that's great) but for her back pain. She suffers from ankylosing spondilitis, a degenerative arthritic condition and frequently wakes up at night with back and joint pains. Now she can charge the hotrox up and keep them by the bed at night. When she wakes with a pain she slips it underneath the affected area and goes back to sleep...four or five hours later she will wake up and the pain is GONE.
