Read after seeing the film. Fascinating story but sadly the protagonist turns out to be considerably less likeable in real life.

La narrazione abbonda di  dialoghi, per la verità molto banali, che rendono la lettura alquanto frammentaria. Soprattutto la prima parte del romanzo è dominata da una certa sciatteria, si direbbe quasi che l'autrice non sia molto interessata a scriverlo. Diventa  più interessantela seconda parte del libro dove l'autrice sembra considerare i ripetuti abusi del padre sulla propria figlia come una sua forma di disprezzo nei confronti della madre di questa, che era sì la sua amante, ma da lui considerata poco più di una qualunque prostituta di cui si arrogava il diritto di servirsi, includendovi anche l'uso, o meglio l'abuso della figlia con la stessa concepita. Punto di vista diverso dal solito, che può anche essere spunto per riflettere su un problema purtroppo molto diffuso.
