This does pair and it works, but there are some drawbacks compared to the first party Philips RGBW LED strip controller. The instructions included are short but make sense. I had no issue with setup of this unit.1) Even though this can be seen in both Hue and SmartThings, it does not appear to be seen in HomeKit. One reason I use Hue specifically for my lighting is that it has HomeKit integration. This controller does not show up in HomeKit where other Philips Hue (A19 RGBW, Candelabra RGBW, Hue Iris, Hue Bloom) all do.2) I use a secondary trigger switch (wireless) to turn off/on as a failsafe. For some reason this will not turn on when power is flipped and I must physically unplug/replug the power adaptor.2a) I have tried multiple 12V adapters and have the same condition.2b) The first 12V adapter I used worked previously with Sylvania/Osram Smart+ RGBW strip controller and this configuration. This appears to be unique to this unit.2c) I'm planning on placing an in-line switch which will work just not as easy as a wireless trigger.3) Overall the construction is fairly basic. The circuit board is sloppily glued into the housing.4) One concern I have moving forward is if there are firmware updates, does not look like there will be a simple method to update this device. I do not see a JTAG header or USB interface. Time will tell how the firmware updates (if there are any) will need to be applied. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you are buying for SmartThings, Requires SmartThings IDE access and update *by R***W on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2018* If you are purchasing this device for use with SmartThings, you'll need to dig into the Smartthings IDE (the interface that allows you to customize certain aspects of your SmartThings functionality from the web). If you don't know what this is, then you should probably do a little research to determine what to do. It's not hard, but it takes some time and familiarity with how IOT objects talk to each other. It will greatly enhance your SmartThings experience.Install the device handler and add the device. I had no issues with pairing and operation is just what I wanted. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better then expected, but not perfect. *by P***. on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2018* I had low expectations for this. I have been using z-wave for 5+years and I purchased it this as part of my test of various Zigbee lights. I use HomeSeer Pro as my main controller and I am testing Hue and ConBee Zigbee hubs to see which one works better with lights and my HomeSeer controller. Surprisingly this controller paired with both without any issues, and has been very responsive. The controller does have a gigantic red light inside the box and the plastic does feels cheap. In addition, on few occasions it did not dim my lights all the way done. Light was off, but I could see green light barley on.
