We briefed out kids teacher on her allergy and left the book in her class room suggesting the teacher read it to the class so the other 5 year olds would understand the importance of an anaphylactic reaction. There is a peanut kid and our milk kid in the class. As far as the kids go it has been requested to be read again and again in class. It is absolutely wonderful that a educational book is entertaining enough to be requested. It is superbly written by a mother who understands what it is like to raise a child that the smallest ingestion of the wrong thing can lead to a life threatening condition. The fact that the other 25 kids in the class are learning the dangers of food allergies without really realizing they are learning is wonderful. The more aware other people are around our child the safer she is. There is always the feeling of being different then other kids, that we've worked hard to overcome and this book plays right into that narrative. The Bugybops and The Bugabees are great.One thing we'd like to stress to all parents and especially those with allergy kids. These books are essential to ANY parent raising a child with a food allergy. These two books will do as much to keep our daughter safe as her 5 point carseat. The Carseat only works if you get in a crash. These books "work" everyday she goes to school. Beyond that, when her friends see her on the play ground they let their parents know that they should not be eating the ice cream cone on the playground when our daughter is around because of her allergy.We would give these book 10 stars if it was an option. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for my son's kindergarten class! *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 13, 2020* I bought this to read to my son's kindergarten class for a mystery reader. day They seemed to really like it and got engaged with the book. My son's teacher even inquired about it which I was really happy about. I think it's important for young kids with or without allergies to understand how to keep their classmates safe. This is a great book for teaching children why some of their friends may have to behave differently, and how to help everyone be safe.I don't adore the cadence when reading this aloud... there's places that it feels to me the words should (and could) rhyme... but that's a personal preference of mine.
