Espelette Pepper Powder PDO - 40 grams / 1.41 ounces

I had a meal at a little restaurant in Salt Lake City, and they used espelette paprika in EVERYTHING. I loved the flavor, but didn't know a particular brand, so I tried this one at random. It does just what I remembered... adds a bright, slightly citrus-y paprika flavor, whether cooked into a dish, or added as a topping. Heat is present but moderate, so it's very flavor-forward. I use it for everything from the spice base of a homemade curry, to punching up cheap boxed macaroni and cheese. Great stuff!

I got this as a present for my husband, considering all the "interesting" foods he has introduced me to. All I can tell you is that he likes it. It's Paprika-ish, but not too hot, at least for him. He reports that it gives a smoky flavor to eggs and mayonnaise-based salads with a little bit of heat, and is very tasty. It arrived quickly, appropriately packaged and in good shape. Enjoy.

Found a recipe that calls for this pepper, so I ordered some. Not knowing what to expect, I found it is a unique paprika type flavor.

Called for in a Gougere recipe I'm trying for the holidays. Haven't made them yet, but the rich color and intense smell gives me confidence that I will find many other uses.

Very unique flavor. I season my steaks with salt, pepper, garlic, and now a few dashes of espelette. Not very spicy, but good flavor and a hint of heat. Yum!

I love this spice! Nicely balanced with pepper flavor and mild heat. I used it in a Basque veal stew and it was perfect.

Just a unique pepper powder that can be used on just about everything but works best when a little depth or flavor is needed on more delicate items.
