Zu meinem Setup: ich habe einmal die GMMK 3 Pro im ANSI Layout gekauft und die GMMK 3 in der günstigsten Variante im ISO Layout (traurigerweise war das die günstigste Option das CNC gefräste Alugehäuse und ein deustches Layout zu haben). Stand heute (und für das Review relevant) habe ich das Mainboard der ISO Variante im Gehäuse der Pro ANSI Variante und die Pro Firmware. Dazu Cherry MX Speed Switche und eine Mischung an Keycaps zwischen den Glorious und Nyfter Pudding. Begonnen habe ich mit der Pro im ANSI Layout und war überrascht vom Tippgefühl: trotz Aluplatte als Stabilisator, statt Messing, ist das Teil extrem stabil (und schwer) und das Tippgefühl ist unvergleichlich. Vermutlich könnte man jemanden mit der Tastatur erschlagen und ich hätte keinerlei bedenken, dass danach auch nur eine Delle in der Tastaur ist, geschweige denn sich auch nur ein Keycap löst. Von vorne herein hatte ich allerdings Probleme mit der Beleuchtung. Kein Problem dachte ich: gibt bestimmt ein Firmwareupdate dafür. Gab's auch, über die Offizielle Software, nur hat das die Beleuchtung komplett deaktiviert. Sämtliche Beleuchtung war aus und hat sich nicht wieder einschalten lassen, egal was die Software gesagt hat. Naja, egal. Dann mache ich halt ein Rollback der Firmware. Gesagt getan und die Tastatur war Softbricked. Für alle denen das nichts sagt: Die Tastatur wurde nicht mehr erkannt. Windows hat gar nichts angezeigt und Linux hat zumindest noch den darunterliegenden Controller gesehen aber von der Tastaur selbst kein Lebenszeichen. Glorious Support verständigt und an der Stelle ein Großes Lob. So eine schnelle und unkomplizierte Kommunikation habe ich selbst im professionellen Umfeld selten erlebt. 2 Mails und ich hatte neue Firmwaredateien, speziell auf mein Problem zugeschnitten. Da die Tastatur kein Lebenszeichen von sich gab also einfach die acht Schrauben auf der Rückseite gelöst, den Controller auf der Tastaur in den DFU Mode gesetzt (Glorious hat dankenswerterweise dafür einen Button im Inneren der Tastatur, also nichts mit Pins brücken oder so) und die neue Firmware per QMK Toolbox geflasht. Siehe da: (fast) alles funktioniert wie es soll. Was fehlt ist ein einstellbares Timeout der Beleuchtung, das steht fest auf 5 Minuten, aber ich habe wieder eine funktionierende Tastatur mit allen Features. An dieser Stelle ist vielleicht relevant, dass ich Informatiker bin und somit kein Problem mit diesen Basteleien habe und mich ein potenziell gebricktes Gerät nicht aus der Ruhe bringt. Naja, glücklich mit der gut funktionierenden Tastatur und ein paar Wochen später dann sogar im Umbau auf das ISO Layout lief es ca. 4 Monate. Dann das nächste Problem: Die Leertaste hat manchmal nicht funktioniert und über Zeit immer weniger, bis sie letztlich komplett den Dienst quittiert hat. Also Tastatur wieder aufgeschraubt und siehe da: eine kalte Lötstelle am Sockel vom Switch, die über Zeit gebrochen ist. Ok, wieder ordentlich zusammen gelötet, noch ein paar weitere verdächtige Lötstellen gefixt und es funktioniert wieder alles. Zusammengefasst ist es stand jetzt die Beste Tastaur, die ich je hatte (und ich habe viele Tastaturen, darunter auch Cherry MX Boards, Corsair K65 pro, K95 Platinum, K100, Klassiker von Roccat damals, Keychron und mehrere Custom Keyboards) und mit dem sehr schnellen Support, der auch prompt Firmwares schickt, einem sehr offenen Controller für den es diverse Projekte für OpenRGB etc. gibt, das vermutlich Beste gesamtpaket (jedenfalls im Pro Gehäuse).
