We have continued to use it since while replacing the yellow one. My husband seems to like this better than the other method of balancing all of the chemicals. New filter, new water, new chemical method. No issues since. The smell is normal. Chemical smells of pool products. As far as cost, I think the longevity of the minerals makes it worth it. The bromine went a little faster than I expected. Time is money and the product seems worth it when I have a working hot tub now with less thought required.

**Q: Does this have to be used in hot water?**
A: I have always used it in my hot tub! When I turn off the hot tub and it cools I still leave it in but I think it’s mainly designed for hot tubs

**Q: This is our first hot tub, its a 6 person plug and play with an Ozone Purification sys. We added this to it, will there be any other chemicals needed?**
A: Yes you will need to balance your water chemistry one time a week Ph alkalinity and calcium. and shock or bromo boost the spa 1x month
