After taking everything apart and studying how the wires all fit together, I realized the gray motor hub was not fully snapped into the blue battery base (though it sure looked like it was). And so the two little white wire terminals inside those two pieces that connect the batteries to the motor hub were not a tight fit. Maybe double check this if yours isn't working. This fixed the issue for me, everything works fine now, cool toy. Review: Such a fun toy - My 2 year old loves this! It’s easy for him to turn on himself and use. There are certain monster trucks that have tires that are too big to go through so we have to hide those when he wants to play with it. The only downfall is it drained the batteries kind of fast.
