Over the first two weeks, I only saw two ticks get on him. One wasn't attached. The other was attached but not gorged. I hadn't planned to continue with the Provecta. I was going to use something else, but, this seems to work just fine. So, I'll stick with it.I've also been working on killing any ticks in the environment itself. Since I tried many products, I wanted to mention what worked - 7.9% Bifenthrin Concentrate. Note: This is not something you'd put on your dog but to dilute and spray indoor/outdoor in cracks and crevices. You have to be really careful with it, but it seems to have killed off any ticks in the environment, as I haven't seen a single one in a few weeks since I sprayed.If you are fighting ticks or fleas, another product I'd recommend is a set of very fine tooth combs. That way you can comb your pet every day to make sure they remain pest free and keep on top of it.Anyway, I give Provecta a 5 since it does have some repelling power and no ticks have gorged themselves since he's been on it. That's super important because in the life cycle of a dog tick, they lay eggs after that last gorging stage. They lay somewhere between 4,000 to 6,500 eggs and then die. If that happens in your house, you can have an infestation before you know it.
