Priority was lightweight but of good quality and so far these binoculars fit the bill. There are more highly specified models and there are one or two features which might have been better - for instance, the hinge is a little bulky when folded - but nothing which is a major issue. Magnification and sharpness of focus are well within the range I expected and the build quality of lens and body are both excellent. For intensive use they may not suit everyone, as they are compact and the field of view and magnification reflect this, but for my purposes they are excellent. Only reason for not giving five stars is that I haven't owned them long enough to comment on their reliability over a sensible timespan.
