Slight issue with one of the axes of motion, but was fun to build with my 5 yo (although I admit I did do most of it!). I'm not gonna say it's the most impressive interactive robot, but my expectations weren't too high. We took care when building it, and the fact that it's almost all plastic doesn't matter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rather difficult to build. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 30 December 2024* He's pretty cool once assembled, functions well and is fun to play with but it really is quite difficult to remove all the pieces from the sprue and assemble them without damaging any parts and the tiny screws are quite hard to screw in (maybe my tiny screwdrivers just made it hard?) So I would say children of around 12 might be able to make it alone ### ⭐ Worthless piece of junk *by on Reviewed in the United States 18 February 2026* Very disappointed. I got it as a Christmas present for my robot-obsessed son, but after hours of work putting it together, all it did was shake a bit and make noises while the legs popped off. I thought maybe my son had messed something up, so I rebuilt the legs (being super careful about the pieces, because the tabs are small and VERY delicate), but nope, no difference. So finally I tore the whole thing apart, thinking maybe something was wrong with the gear assembly--and again, after carefully reassembling the stupid thing, still just shaking in place. Now the piece of junk is in the trash and I'm here writing this review just to complain about the hours of my life wasted for nothing. ## Frequently Bought Together - Thames & Kosmos Hero: Sound-Sensing Robot STEM Experiment Kit, Build a Robot That Reacts to Sounds, Explore Engineering, Sound Technology, Spatial Hearing, Quality Screen-Free, Educational Play - Thames & Kosmos Bionic Robotic Arm STEM Experiment Kit, Toy of The Year Finalist, Build a Mechanical Arm, No Batteries/Motors Required | Innovative System | Ages 10+ with Help, 14+ Independent Play - Thames & Kosmos Kai: The Artificial Intelligence Robot | Explore Machine Learning | Build an Innovative Smart Robot & Experiment with AI | App-Enabled for iOS & Android | Intro to AI for Kids --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pe/products/632095592-thames-and-kosmos-hero-sound-sensing-robot-kids-science-kit](https://www.desertcart.pe/products/632095592-thames-and-kosmos-hero-sound-sensing-robot-kids-science-kit) --- *Product available on Desertcart Peru* *Store origin: PE* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
