Okay, to be fair, it’s for dental photography, taking pictures of a dental patient’s teeth, but to be honest, I only had a dentist take a picture of my teeth once in my 77 years and that was with a little point and shoot camera. However, I’m going to keep it and use it for indoor macro on a tripod. No way am I shlepping this thing, with a camera and 105mm macro lens attached, across the southern Arizona desert backcountry. In order to make it tripod capable, I replaced the captive screw knob with a 7/8 inch captive screw, threaded this through a square Sunwayfoto Arca-Swiss QR plate, then through the bracket mounting flange and then into a Sunwayfoto 26mm Arca-Swiss clamp. You can see the final contraption in the attached images. Meh.
