Review: Useful - I bought this to help me with IB TOK marking - I know quite a bit about knowledge and epistemology, but wanted to make sure I knew what students should know. I thought it was clear, well set out, thoughtful and engaging at the right level for students. There are one or two oversimplifications that I thought were unnecessary but this didn't overwhelm the positive aspects (and I think that they lie in the syllabus rather than the book). I lent the book to my daughter who was doing an EPQ in a fairly philosophical area of physics. She found the introduction, and the sections on knowledge frameworks in maths and physics useful, and commented, 'It assumes that I don't know anything but that I'm intelligent. All the other things I've found either assume I'm stupid or that I already know what I'm talking about.' So for us, this book has been a good buy.
